Jack Yates (MA student, media studies) focuses on media as a form of mass messaging, such as how it can form install forms of thought and influence across large groups. Its utilization in politics, journalism, environmental conservation efforts is of particular interest to him. He has two bachelor's degrees from the University of Vermont in film and television studies and the history of the Americas. Before coming to CU, he was a multimedia and field director for a presidential campaign. Then he worked for two startups and in the television journalism industry, inspiring many of the subjects he currently focuses on as a master's student.
