Shannon Miller

Shannon graduated with distinction from University of Colorado Boulder in 2018, earning a BA in MCDB, minor in Business, and certificate in Neuroscience and Behavior. As of fall 2019, she is a Molecular and Integrative Physiology PhD student at University of Michigan and has been rotating in labs that focus on aging research. Her career goals include working alongside individuals whose mission is to help mitigate or eradicate human disease utilizing biologically based solutions. In the past she worked for Dr. Poyton as a professional research assistant investigating aging and the importance of nitric oxide within the framework of caloric restriction using yeast. Shannon also co-authored a review article that focused on the mitochondria's role in olfaction and the beneficial physiological and psychological effects of nature therapy, and created the lab website.
