SBS Lab held an in-person seminar on Modeling Infrastructure Resilience for Sustainable Urban Development.
SBS Lab hosted its first in-person seminar in 20 months. A big thank you to Dr. Dru Crawley for giving this exciting talk on GOING DIGITAL – MODELING INFRASTRUCTURE RESILIENCE FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT and holding a Q&A session with the attendees.
It is now possible to quickly model a city using 3D technologies such as photogrammetry, LiDAR, and BIM. By federating the data from these sources, it is possible to evaluate the resilience of a city under different planning and disaster scenarios. Dr. Crawley’s presentation included example models of several cities including Philadelphia and Helsinki.
Dr. Crawley is the Director-At-Large on ASHRAE Board, Member of Task Force on Building Decarbonization, Chair of Standard 169, IBPSA Vice President since 2018, USGBC - past vice chair and member, and Energy & Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group. As an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, he has given more than 180 presentations and workshops for more than 90 ASHRAE chapters throughout the world.
