A survey of Mark Amerika's practice-based research art projects was recently on exhibit at University of Hawai‘i Art Gallery as part of the inaugural edition of CONVERGENCE. The CONVERGENCE series encompasses and explores the impact of Internet art, digital, electronic, sound, and a wide range of new, traditional, and hybrid technologies on communication and art. This extended, interactive installation was titled
Glitch.Click.Thunk and engaged visitors and students in hands-on exchanges between letter-press, litho-process, and state-of-the-art digital imaging via live audio/visual performance workshops within the galleries. The exhibition featured many remix artworks from Amerika's
Museum of Glitch Aesthetics and his feature-length mobile phone film,
Immobilité.
