Zach graduated from Montana State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Modern Languages & Literatures. He joined the group in Fall 2022 with interests including failure of materials, and soft and active matter network mechanics. His current research focuses on network deformation and fracture in insect swarms, as well as, the mechanics of dynamic entangled aggregates.
