Process Design: I use AspenPlus™, Aspen HYSYS™, Aspen Energy Analyzer™, Aspen COMThermo Workbench™, and SuperPro Designer™ process simulation programs to develop process designs for ferrite, ZnO, and MnO water splitting cycles as well as biomass conversion processes. Then using the Department of Energy’s H2A hydrogen production analysis program and guidelines, I can evaluate the process economics and feasibility.
Catalytic Microchannel Reactors: The goal of this research is to investigate microchannel catalysis of various reactions including fuel production from synthesis gas.
Thermal Energy Storage Materials: The objective of this research is to study high temperature thermal energy storage of mixed metal ferrites for steam production from chemical and sensible heat recovery.
