  • Founding Partner, Insight Designs Web Solutions

I graduated from Duke University in 1992 with a degree in Public Policy and became a news reporter for newspapers including USA Today and the Detroit Free Press, where I covered Arab American affairs. In 1999, I left journalism and cofounded Insight Designs, a Boulder-based web development firm. Over the past 22 years, we've grown to be a 19-person team creating world-class web and mobile solutions for more than 500 clients on six continents.

My advice to students...

The most important piece of leadership is building a great team; surrounding yourself with smart, hard-working people is crucial to success. Once you have this team, treat them well, challenge them and incentivize them to stick with you. Team longevity is powerful; turnover is limiting. Also, finding a mentor or mentors who help answer questions can save you tons of time and headache.
