My advice to students...

The biggest lessons I have learned throughout my career: 1) say yes to everything that terrifies you, you might find a new hobby 2) get comfortable with failure, failure is the only way to success 3) it is okay to ask for help or admit you don't know an answer 4) honesty is always the best solution and it takes courage to admit you made a mistake 5) give back to your community- if I could underline this one I would.  It is the best way to make lifelong friends and find joy. 6) most people do not love their jobs, you can follow your passion outside of work (for me this has been through volunteering.) 7) no person's job is more important than anyone else's- treat everyone with the same respect and dignity 8) be kind, the world is hard enough on people and you never know the burden another person is carrying.
