Through an initiative of the University Libraries Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL), all CU Boulder students and employees with ILL privileges may now pick up their ILL requests at their preferred Main Campus library.

“Until now, all ILL users needed to collect their items at Norlin Library,” Interlibrary Loan Borrowing Manager Beth Arellano said. “We know that Norlin isn’t every student’s go-to library,  and we want to meet each individual where it is most convenient for them.”

Individuals may now choose to pick up their ILL requests at the circulation desk of the Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library; the Howard B. Waltz Music Library; the Gemmill Engineering, Math and Physics Library; or Norlin Library. The William M. White Business Library will participate in this service when the new space opens later this year. Individuals may return their ILL items to any CU Boulder library, with the exception of the Law Library.

The University Libraries are considering ILL service opportunities beyond Main Campus. Next steps for the ILL service expansion project include reaching the East Campus Bartlett Center in the Sustainability, Energy and Environment Complex (SEEC) and investigating opportunities to support distance learners. Arellano said this service extension is a step towards enhancing support for the University of Colorado Boulder’s academic community as it expands to East Campus and online.

All CU Boulder students and employees with Interlibrary Loan privileges can use this free service to submit requests for books, articles, and other resources through ILLiad. Individuals should select their preferred pickup location in the final stages of submitting an ILL request, by using the Delivery Method drop-down box in the ILLiad request form. The individual will receive an email when requested items are available for pick up.
