Tips for making the most out of your tutoring sessions
- Come prepared. This means you should attend class, take notes, read the textbook, attempt the homework and come with questions. Tutor-Mentors will not do your homework for you. They are there to answer questions and help you get to the answer yourself.
- Tutors guide your learning. They work with you, not for you. They help you think through concepts, share study strategies and develop skills.
- Tutor-Mentors are students just like you. They are trained and knowledgeable, but do not know everything. Tutor-Mentors provide academic support, but they do not guarantee grades or evaluate your work. You still need to put the effort in before, during and after tutoring sessions for success.
