Jeffrey Carlson

Mechanical/Systems Engineer | NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
A little about my career path: While in school at CU, I applied for an internship at JPL - it was amazing, and I decided I would land a job there. I contacted as many supervisors and asked them to interview me (this turned out to be 25 technical 90-minute interviews). After that, I didn't hear back from JPL, so I moved to Hollywood and started working on movies. 7 months later, JPL offered me an engineering job on the Mars 2020 Rover, developing the Mast/Head assembly. Now I work full-time at JPL during the weekdays and do film/art jobs on the weeknights/weekends. Not sure what is next, but it is a fun ride.
