Robin (Zimmerly) Meidhof (“RZ”) is Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel for United Power, Inc, a member-owned distribution electric cooperative serving 900 square miles along the north-central Front Range in Colorado. From 2021-2023, she served as Deputy Attorney General of the Revenue and Utilities Section of the Colorado Office of the Attorney General, where she helped drive innovative leadership initiatives and led a team of legal professionals who represent various statewide clients at Colorado agencies, including Trial Staff at the Colorado Public Utilities Commission. Prior to coming to Colorado, RZ worked for Southern California Edison where she provided general counsel and legal representation to SCE in regulatory proceedings related to customer programs and tariffs (demand response, economic development rates, microgrids). Before going in-house, RZ worked at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as a legal and policy advisor to Commissioner Tony Clark and in FERC’s Office of Enforcement. RZ has a trifecta of experience in the energy sector at the federal and state level: enforcing federal energy regulations; drafting and advising on national policies and regulations; and using that experience to provide in-house expertise on regulatory policy & compliance, contract negotiations, litigation strategy, and development of innovative customer-oriented initiatives. RZ prides herself on making dry subjects interesting and teaching in a way that enables her students to thrive. When she is not working, RZ can be found cheering for her husband at bicycle races, discovering CO coffee shops by bike, and coaching Special Olympic Athletes in cycling.
