Director of Admissions + Recruitment Jalen Lee joined the College of Music in the fall of 2022. She enjoys the privilege of meeting music students across the country and is passionate about connecting young people with life-changing music education.
Before moving to Boulder, Lee served for five years as the assistant dean of admissions at the Aspen Music Festival and School where she built new admissions and enrollment systems, oversaw student life and facilitated organizational progress on IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity and access). Lee also taught Beginning Strings and Lead Guitar classes in the Aspen Music Festival’s Education and Community programs.
Lee earned a bachelor of music in viola performance and an artist diploma in strings from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Catharine Carroll-Lees and Masao Kawasaki. She attended the Aspen Music Festival and School for many years as a viola student and continues to teach and perform.
Lee lives in the Boulder area and loves hiking and exploring Colorado.
