Imposters Falsely Claiming to Fundraise for CU

It has recently come to the attention of the University of Colorado that door-to-door magazine salespeople have been falsely representing themselves as members of a “CU orchestra” raising money for a trip to Europe. Arvada is one of the cities in which these impostors have been spotted in recent weeks.

Associate Professor of Piano David Korevaar performs two of Liszt’s Swiss pieces: Eglogue and Mal du pays. The first is an evocation of spring (a nice relief after the Vallée d’Obermann); the second, based on a Ranz des vaches that Liszt evidently liked well enough to recycle many years later in his famous Nuages Gris, is filled with nostalgia and longing. Highlife Ensemble Theatre

The CU West African Highlife Ensemble held its 10th Anniversary Celebration April 17, 2010 at Macky. CUWAHE commemorated this milestone by combining traditional and contemporary in one concert which brought African music to audiences of all ages and walks of life. Joining in the anniversary celebraton were a delegation of chiefs and queenmothers from the Asante Kingdom of Ghana who shared their vibrant musical traditions.

Grusin Music Hall Renovation

Grusin Music Hall is undergoing a major renovation this summer which will significantly improve its acoustics and audience experience. The stage will be lowered by 14 inches and made acoustic for better sound and a more intimate setting. A permanent rear acoustic wall will be added for better sound isolation from outside sources. Additional benefits include a larger performing space, improved lighting, more natural wood, and better handicap accessibility.
