ODECE manages millions of dollars in scholarship grants for first-generation and low-income students. We secure these grants through active relationships with community partners around Colorado, which breaks down systemic barriers to access and affordability.

Scholarship Details

Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI)

This Colorado Department of Higher Education program provides financial support and academic enrichment to students. 

  • Must be nominated by the CU LEAD Alliance or other student success program.
  • Must be a Colorado resident who participates in a CU LEAD Alliance program.
  • Must have a family income within 250% of PELL eligibility. 
  • Typical scholarship is $3,000, renewable for four years.
  • May qualify more than once.

ODECE Student Support Fund

This fund supports undergraduate CU LEAD Alliance, first generation or historically underrepresented students with demonstrated financial need.

  • Not intended to provide ongoing support for recurring expenses.
  • Evaluated based on a student's unmet need. Requests may not be fully funded.
  • Provided in the form of a scholarship that does not need to be repaid.
  • Reviewed by the ODECE scholarship committee on a monthly basis.
