Tutoring Rules and Expectations
Absent Policy
Let your tutor mentor know if you need to cancel a session. You should notify them at least 24 hours before the scheduled session. If you fail to notify your tutor mentor three times, you may lose access to Penji for 30 days.
Communication
Use the chat feature in Penji to respond and communicate with your tutor mentor about cancellations, goals and other things that may come up.
Honor Code
Students are expected to adhere to the CU Honor Code for all tutoring sessions. Tutor mentors cannot share their past assignments or exams with students, nor can they share any code, calculators, spreadsheets or other materials from past classes.

Make the Most of Your Tutoring Sessions
Come prepared
This means you should attend class, take notes, read the textbook, attempt the homework and come to your session with questions.
Set a goal
Think about what you want to get out of your tutoring session and communicate with your tutor mentor via chat in Penji. This allows you and your tutor mentor to come prepared to the tutoring appointment.
Learn with your tutor mentor
Tutor mentors work with you—not for you. They help you think through concepts, share study strategies and develop skills but they will not do your homework for you.
Make an effort
Tutor mentors provide academic support, but they do not guarantee grades or evaluate your work. You still need to put the effort in before, during and after tutoring sessions for success.
Provide feedback
Provide session feedback on Penji at the end of each tutoring session.
