LTC Place was commissioned into the Army in 2006 and is a proud ROTC graduate from Montana State University, Bozeman, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005. In 2018, she earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Administration from Liberty University, followed by a Master of Science in Health Care Informatics from the University of San Diego in 2020.
Her last assignment she was the Deputy Director of Patient Services, LTC Place oversees various critical areas, including Pharmacy, Nutrition, Rehab services, Laboratory, and Radiology. She also held the role of Chief of Ambulatory and Emergency Nursing Services, which encompasses primary care and emergency nursing services. Her leadership shone through as she led the implementation of MHS GENESIS (medical record) at Irwin Army Community Hospital, serving over 1,200 users. LTC Place has a track record of successfully coordinating large-scale events, including ceremonies and military field training exercises. Her skill set includes project management, education, TeamStepps instruction, neonatal resuscitation instructor, basic life support instructor, and sexual assault nurse examiner.
LTC Place's journey in the Army began as a medical-surgical nurse on a multi-care unit at the 121st Combat Support Hospital in Yongsan, South Korea. She continued to serve in various roles, including labor and delivery nurse at Vicenza Health Center, Italy. At Evan Army Community Hospital, LTC Place served as the Head Nurse of the Mother-Baby Unit and later took on the role of Chief of Maternal-Child Nursing. At Fort Riley, she started as the Chief of Nursing Informatics and Chief of Ready Medical Force until April 2022.
LTC Place lives with her husband Regen, and their children Artenio and Dani in Erie, Colorado.
