Heidi
Lecturer

Heidi McNamara joined the department as a Lecturer in 2022. She teaches a variety of courses in International Relations, including International Political Economy and International Organizations.  Her research interests focus on institutional incentives, with an emphasis on examining the ways that international organizations interact with nonstate actors such as NGOs and private sector firms. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Politics from Willamette University and earned her Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, San Diego. Outside of academia, she worked as Chief of Staff for an Oregon State Senator and consulted as a policy advisor for a variety of research-based public policy institutions.
