For any postdocs or families affected by the Marshall Fire, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) extends our heartfelt sympathies.

As Chancellor DiStefano referenced in his memo, there are campus and community resources available to support postdocs including financial assistance and confidential counseling.

Chancellor DiStefano has authorized up to 160 hours of emergency administrative leave for employees, including postdocs, impacted by the fire who need the additional time for recovery efforts. For more details, visit Leave Options in Event of Natural Disaster or Local Emergency.

Additionally, the Staff & Faculty Emergency Fund is another source of support. Laptops, hotspots, and IT peripherals may be available for postdocs, faculty and staff who have a loss of residence or who are unable to access their housing for a prolonged period of time.

The campus and Boulder County community are intimately interwoven and this tragedy affects us all. Please care for one another and reach out to opa@colorado.edu if you have any needs or questions.

Best wishes for the days ahead,

OPA
