Precollege Outreach and Engagement

Marco Torres is the Campus Visit Coordinator for the Partnership Outreach Program (POP) at the University of Colorado Boulder. Born and raised in Swansea/Northside Denver, Marco incorporates his community upbringing into his work, which serves as a base for students to navigate higher education. Marco is a past precollegiate student and served as a Peer Counselor during his undergraduate years at CU Boulder.

Throughout his high school and college years, BIPOC counselors/coordinators played vital roles in his collegiate endeavors.  As a first-generation college student, Marco is passionate about working with first-generation students and providing them with the same kind of support he received in high school and college. Marco has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Ethnic Studies. He wants to continue his education and work for diversity and inclusion on campus for first-generation students.
