David Pankow received his MS (73) and DEng (78) from UC Berkeley. He started work at UCB's Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL) in 1975. Over the years has been the instrument lead mechanical engineer for the CRRES, ISEE, Polar, Wind, Cluster, and Phoenix missions. He has also been the mission lead mechanical for NASA's FAST, RHESSI and Themis missions. He has also been the mechanical lead for numerous SSL Sounding Rocket and High Altitude Balloon campaigns. He has received a number of NASA group achievement awards. He was also involved in the ISI and SNAP telescopes. He was also a faculty lecturer in UCB's Mechanical Engineering Dept. from 1978 to 2004.
