Frances Jenkins Olcott (1872-1963) was a French/American children’s book author and head librarian of the Library of Pittsburgh's children’s department. While she was head librarian, she lead outreach programs to bring books into schools, detention centers, etc. After she left her library position in 1911, she wrote books on how to be an effective librarian for children’s literature.
