George Cruikshank (1792-1878) was a British illustrator and caricaturist who was known for the illustrations he did for his friend Charles Dickens, as well as those done for the 1823 English translations of Grimms Fairy Tales. He was also highly regarded for the sociopolitical cartoon work he did in the early to mid-1800s.
