Vera Bock

Vera Bock (1905-2006) was born in the Russian Empire and fled with her family during the Russian Revolution, eventually settling in San Francisco. Later on, Bock studied a variety of art forms in Switzerland and England, returning to America during the Great Depression, where she designed posters for the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration. She is well known for her children's book illustrations, and has been featured in numerous art exhibitions.
