Boulder’s first fully protected intersection is now open for travel as construction of the 30^th Street and Colorado Avenue Protected Intersection and Underpass project nears completion. The city invites the community to learn how to use the intersection through a short educational video, and to celebrate the project safety improvements at a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It’s preferable and easy to register your bike at the TLC or Folsom bike stations. You can also register online. Then, your serial number will be in the database. You can pick up your registration sticker from a campus bike station later.

CU Boulder requires bike registration for all bikes parked regularly on campus. Bike registration allows the police to track down stolen bikes and grants you access to free maintenance at bike stations around campus. The bike registration process is free and powered by Bike Index. Bike Index is the nation’s leading online bike registry which provides serial numbers and identifying information about your bike including proof of ownership. When a bike is reported lost or stolen, Bike Index helps identify, locate, and track it from any computer or smartphone.

96% of bikes stolen on campus use a cable lock or no lock. Instead, use a high-quality U-lock to keep your bike safe. Ensure the lock goes through your bike's frame, not just the front wheel. Thieves can easily remove a front wheel and take the rest of your bike. If you don’t have a U-lock, you can trade in your cable lock at one of the bike stations during business hours for a free U-lock.

For the 2023-24 academic year, the UMC Bike Shelter (secured bike parking) is accessible to anyone with an active Buff OneCard. This is to help alleviate limited bike parking outside the UMC due to the Hellems renovation project. Bikes are not to be left in the shelter overnight.​​

Take advantage of free student memberships to Boulder BCycle. Boulder BCycle’s e-bike sharing program has multiple stations serving campus + 300 bikes throughout Boulder. The entire fleet is electric, making getting where you are going faster.

The Buff OneCard now serves as the transit pass for all enrolled CU students and benefited employees. CU is no longer issuing CollegePasses or EcoPasses. If you have further questions or encounter problems with your card, contact buspass@colorado.edu

Your Buff OneCard gives you access to RTD bus and rail routes, including routes to Denver International Airport.

Real-time location tracking for CU Boulder’s Buff Buses, RTD, HOP, B-cycle and more is available via the Transit app. The app also includes expected arrival times and service notifications. Download: From Google Play or the Apple Store.
