Katie Herbert

Katie completed her PhD at the Institute for Molecular Engineering (now the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering) at the University of Chicago in July of 2019 with a dissertation focused on the targeted design of dynamic and mechanical bonds towards functional, responsive polymeric networks. Dr. Herbert joined the R+PM Group in August of 2019 and initiated new research directions relating to the mechanobiology of LCEs and cells and the preparation of LCEs with supramolecular bonds.  Dr. Herbert took a position at the University of Delaware to assist in the leadership and operations of a DOE EFRC on Sustainable Polymers.
