As someone who loves academia, I’ve always felt a natural call to research. No matter the subject, new discoveries always appealed to me, and the desire to conduct research has been the greatest constant in my college career. Learning and getting a better understanding of the world makes me so happy, and that’s something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I intend to go to graduate school after my bachelor's degree and continue research, so doing undergraduate research feels like a natural step to take.

The goal of STUDIO labs is to connect driven, diverse students with people and projects to help the students and the research groups propel forward. I believe I fit this description perfectly. I am someone who works tirelessly for my goals, and I take pride in my ability to fail and pick myself back up again. My background is also diverse, having parents from Mexico and Austria, which I think was a big part of why I find linguistics so interesting. Though I haven't had the opportunity to do linguistic specific research, I've happily taught myself several foreign alphabets and am familiar with Praat after taking Phonetics and Phonology here at Boulder.
