Sandbox 2 - Automatic Scholarship Consideration
Prospective first-year students from Colorado and out-of-state, as well as all transfer students, are automatically considered for some the following scholarships.
Sandbox - Prospective first-year students
The CU Boulder Esteemed Scholars Program reflects CU Boulder's commitment to recognizing the exceptional academic potential of Colorado students. Named for CU Boulder's first presidents, the scholarships include President Joseph A. Sewall and President Horace M. Hale. Available to students from Colorado.
The Arts & Humanities Merit Scholarship is offered to first-year students who apply and are admitted with a declared A&H major. Available for in and out-of-state students.
CU Boulder offers the Native and Indigenous Student Scholarship to students who are members of a federally recognized tribe. Available for in and out-of-state students.
The Boulder Bridge, and Bridge Ignite Scholarships are offered to students who participated in the CU System Precollege Outreach Program. Available to students from Colorado.

The Regent scholarship is available to first-year students who graduate from Colorado high schools. One $1,000 Regent scholarship is offered each year per Colorado high school based on high academic achievement as measured by GPA, rank in class, and level of coursework. Available to students from Colorado.
Colorado residents who receive an automatic consideration scholarship are also considered for add-on scholarships from the College of Media, Communication & Information (CMCI). Available to students from Colorado.
Sandbox - Out-of-state students
The following scholarships are only available to prospective first-year students not from Colorado. The Arts & Humanities Merit Scholarship and Native and Indigenous Student Scholarship are available to prospective first-year students from Colorado and out-of-state.
The CU Boulder Chancellor's Achievement Scholarship is only available to prospective first year students not from Colorado.
The Presidential Scholarship is only available to prospective first-year students not from Colorado.
Sandbox - CU Boulder Transfer Excellence Scholarship
Transfer students from Colorado or out-of-state with completed admissions applications are automatically considered for the CU Boulder Transfer Excellence scholarship. Students are contacted by the Office of Financial Aid if selected. While the majority of scholarships are offered to transfer students entering for the fall term, a select amount of funds are reserved for transfer students entering in the spring semester. This scholarship is granted to undergraduate resident and nonresidents transferring to CU Boulder with a cumulative college GPA of 3.75 or better and who have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of college course work after high school graduation (or equivalent).
