Michael Shiferaw

I am a PhD student in Dr. Su's lab. My research focuses on understanding the impact of X-ray radiation on cell behavior, with a particular emphasis on cell fate change and cell migration. My objective is to elucidate the mechanisms behind radiation-induced unidirectional cell migration by mapping cellular receptor-ligand signaling pathways that dictate this directionality. For my studies, I employ Drosophila wing discs. Currently, I am in the process of investigating differentially expressed genes for subsequent functional testing and further characterization.
