Sebastijan is an external affiliate of SWx TREC. He is interested in radio remote sensing of the Earth’s ionosphere using global navigation satellite system (GNSS) as opportunistic signals to image ionospheric disturbances. His current projects involve research into how solar eclipses impact the ionosphere, how geomagnetic disturbances impact integrity of the GNSS signals at high latitudes in the presence of auroral bodies, multi-scale magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere coupling, and space weather impacts on GNSS positioning errors. Sebastijan is an electrical engineer by training and holds a BSc, MSc (University of Ljubljana), and PhD (Boston University) in electrical engineering.
