CU: Where are you from?
SL: Breckenridge, CO
CU: What year are you? What’s your major?
SL: I just graduated with a bachelor’s in Integrative Physiology
CU: What disciplines of cycling do you participate in for the team?
SL: Just road for me
CU: How long have you been riding? What category do you race in?
SL: I’ve been riding for about 3 years and have made it to the A’s in collegiate and Cat 2 in USAC
CU: What got you into cycling?
SL: Dad owned a bike shop growing up, his love for bicycles eventually rubbed off on me.
CU: What is your favorite kind of racing? What is your favorite collegiate race?
SL: Road races and hill climbs are my favorite kinds of racing and I really like the Fort Lewis Road Race. I think it favors me a lot with its circuit format
CU: What are your cycling ambitions?
SL: I just want to enjoy the process of racing and pushing myself, wherever that gets me. When you are pushing yourself to the limit you discover qualities about yourself that you might not have known existed.
CU: Are you sponsored by an outside team? If so, who?
SL: Yes, Groove/Subaru
CU: What do you do besides cycling at CU? Other clubs, jobs, etc.
SL: I’m an intern for the Healthy Aging Project
CU: What is your favorite part about Boulder as a city?
SL: The wide variety of ride choices, plus the city is void of monotony
CU: Biking is a big commitment time wise, how do you balance your academics and social life with cycling?
SL: I get up early or ride late when necessary, but understand that life happens, sometimes balance means making accommodations to get everything done
CU: A lot of wise, successful cyclists live by a specific mantra… Do you have one?
SL: Not really, maybe never stop smiling
CU: If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be and why?
SL: Luke Skywalker ... would like to become a master Jedi
CU: What's a fun fact about you?
SL: I love candied ginger

CU: What’s your favorite music to ride to?
SL: Meh, prefer to listen to the sounds of the road

SL: heart and soul

SL: Take each race as an opportunity to learn, and enjoy the process
