Developing friendships in college can benefit your quality of life and create more opportunities to have fun. CU Boulder offers many programs, organizations and other ways to connect and build relationships. One way to make friends this semester is to get involved and find people with similar hobbies and interests.

Crafting and art

CU offers many ways to meet other makers and explore your creative side. Whether you are just starting or an expert, there’s a place for you to craft and connect.  

Sports and fitness

Whether you love watching or playing sports, you’ll find many ways to connect with others and pursue your passions. Athletes, fitness Buffs and fans can explore CU Boulder’s love of sports. 

Games and gaming

CU Boulder has a large gaming community! Video game, trivia and board game enthusiasts can find various ways to meet fellow gamers and join in the fun.  

Outdoor adventures

Boulder is the perfect place to explore the great outdoors. From hiking and climbing to skiing and mountain biking, you’ll meet new people and find new adventures.  

Music and entertainment

Whether you are a musician, comedian, dancer or performing arts fan, CU Boulder offers many opportunities to connect with other Buffs while you enjoy live performances or hone your skills. 

  • Attend a concert, recital, dance performance, film screening or other event offered by Program Council or CU Presents
  • Join a student organization focused on entertainment or performing arts, like Boulder Film BuffsBuffoons or CU Rave Club. 
  • Sign up for a dance class at The Rec. Classes include ballet, contemporary dance, Afro-Latin dance, femme hip hop and country swing dance. Classes are open to all fitness and experience levels.

Social justice, advocacy and activism

Many CU Boulder students are passionate about social justice and improving the world. Whether you care about climate justice, racial and gender equality or another vital issue, you can find a like-minded community. 

Connecting with others and building relationships can add value to your college experience. The Center for Student Involvement aims to help students succeed and grow within a vibrant campus community.
