Tips for a low-key spring break
While some students may take trips over spring break, many Buffs look forward to a low-key week off from classes. If you’re looking for things to do over spring break, here are some ideas.
Enjoy a staycation
Not all students travel for spring break. If you’re staying in the Boulder area over break, here are some things to do.
- Try a new restaurant—check out Boulder’s Bites on a Budget list.
- Catch a show at the Boulder Theater or Fox Theatre.
- Take a hike or snowshoe on one of Boulder’s many trails.
- Visit a local museum, like the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art or Museum of Boulder.
Take a day trip
Colorado has many beautiful destinations within driving distance.
- Go skiing—you can catch a ride to and from Eldora Ski Resort.
- Visit Denver using RTD public transit with your Buff OneCard. There are plenty of restaurants, museums, shops and other attractions to check out!
- Visit Rocky Mountain National Park. Many trails and activities are closed until early summer, but you can enjoy winter recreation activities.
Work on your resume or summer job search
Taking care of your to-do list can help relieve stress and help you get ready for the end of the semester. If you have extra time during the break, you can get a head start on your summer job or internship search.
- Create or update your profile on Handshake.
- Update your resume.
- Prepare for career fairs.
- Search for job and internship opportunities.
- Practice for interviews.
Visit home or family
Spring break can be an excellent time to visit family. Whether your home away from campus is close to Boulder or across the country, spend your break focusing on connection, relaxation and fun. Plan fun activities like a game night or special dinner.
Make the most of your spring break
Your spring break doesn’t have to be flashy to be fun. Sometimes simple things like spending time with family or just resting can enhance your well-being and give you the boost you need to finish the semester strong.
