Dr. Sharif Razzaque

Dr. Sharif Razzaque talk will discuss surgical microwave needle ablation for liver and kidney cancer, and their efforts to use 3D navigation to make the procedure easier and more effective. Dr. Razzaque will discuss the challenges they faced and how their navigation system ended up being different from other commercially available systems.
Dr. Razzaque is a chief engineer working with interventional imaging at Medtronic. He recieved his doctorate in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007, and then began working at InnerOptic, which is a medical visualization technology company. Before leaving InnerOptic for Medtronic, Dr. Razzaque was serving as Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Razzaque is the author of several outstanding scholarly papers and articles, and is also listed as the inventor on 42 patents and patent applications.
Last spring, Dr. Razzaque gave an incredible talk to the Introduction to Biomedical Engineering class at CU, and we are delighted to be hosting him once again.
Dr. Shariff Razzaque will be coming to speak to us on Wednesday, November 22, from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. The presentation will be held in Duane Physics, Room G125.
