Chief Engineer

Bio:

Max is a senior studying for a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. In addition, Max is also pursuing a double major as a Bachelor of Arts in music where he plays percussion. In his role as chief engineer, Max oversees the design, integration, and testing of the entire machine with a focus on the mechanical aspects of the machine. In addition to designing critical aspects of the machine this role also includes creating documentation and manufacturing processes and reviewing designs to ensure machine functionality.

This past year Max served as Project Manager overseeing the engineering business and operations effort with for the 2023 Not-A-Boring-Competition. Previously to becoming Project Manager Max served as the Excavation team lead, where he led the move to a higher power system and new excavation cutting head design. In addition, he also has worked on the software team, where he designed the graphical user interface, communications system, and controls algorithms for the 2021 machine. 

In addition to Hyperloop, Max also works in the CU Boulder Aerospace Electronics Lab as a lab assistant where he assists the aerospace department with electrical engineering needs in addition to helping instruct lab courses. 

Outside of academics Max is also an active part of the athletic bands at CU where he plays drum set for the CU Basketball Band. During his free time, Max enjoys skiing and hiking in the mountains of Colorado.
