The University of Colorado Student Government is coordinating a number of relief efforts for residents displaced by the Fourmile Canyon Fire, including a temporary housing online message board, a donation center and a coin drive.

"Our hearts ache for all of those affected by the wildfire," said Allison Foley, CU Student Government vice president of external affairs. "We want to ensure that we are doing everything in our power to support the students, faculty, staff and community members that have been impacted by this tragedy."

The CU Student Government efforts are supported by Off-Campus Student Services, the Volunteer Resource Center and the Student Organizations Finance Office.

Beginning today, local community members, landlords and property management companies may list temporary housing availabilities and residential services at ocss.colorado.edu . The database will remain available until all displaced persons have found housing.

A donation center and coin drive will be located in the fountain area outside the University Memorial Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during Sept. 14-17. Details on items to be collected are still being finalized, according to Nathan Cook, CU Student Government finance chair.
