The world’s biggest eye contact experiment. Yes, I know this may seem goofy at first, but here’s why I think this is cool and worth checking out: studies show that just 10 seconds of continuous eye contact can lead to the perception of a special connection between the two gazers. The folks on Pearl Street Mall will aim for a full minute of eye contact between strangers from 4 to 7 p.m. in an effort to create word-less human connections. If you think this is cool too, then you may want to take a gander down to Pearl and find some cool people. Get your eye contact info here.
Literary Buffs: Literature and arts festival. For a relaxed and sophisticated evening, be sure to stop by Innisfree Café on the Hill from 4 to 7 p.m. to talk books, poetry and art with fellow intellectuals and aficionados whilst sipping local spicy Bhakti and wearing your most comfy sweater. If you just want to converse with some educated sounding friends, then this may be the place for you. Literary Buffs information.
Yoga in the park. Join Out Boulder this and every Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. until Dec. 31 in Parkside Park (23rd and Kalmia) for a free yoga session. The yoga class is aimed at living in the present, being outside and accepting of all types of people of all walks of life.
Pluto Party. Celebrate the new findings of NASA’s New Horizons mission by donning your space attire and strapping on your skates for the Pluto themed party to be held at the Rec Center Rink from 9 to 11 p.m. Since we now know there is ice on Pluto, there will be skating, music, light shows and activities- all space themed of course.
