The Federal Land Policy and Management Act turns 40 on Oct. 21. To celebrate this milestone, the Getches-Wilkinson Center at the University of Colorado Law School is sponsoring a one-day conference that will feature panels on important aspects of the law, including land use planning, mineral development and land conservation.

The conference will also explore some of the modern challenges facing public land managers and consider what the future holds for public land resources. Experts in the field as well as current and former high-level government officials will speak at the conference, including John Leshy, the former Interior Solicitor, and Neil Kornze, the current BLM Director.
