A new academic program based on small seminars will give freshmen opportunities to focus on a variety of topics alongside classmates who share their interests and higher education goals.

Registration for the First-Year Seminar Program begins Oct. 31 (by assigned appointment through the class registration process). Students can choose from 32 seminars focused on math, history, Shakespeare and a variety of other topics designed and taught by faculty. Participants will engage in extended, collaborative projects and presentations.

Seminars will be limited to 19 students per class and each topic will have its own section number. Students who are interested in enrolling should talk to an advisor for more information or search for FYSM 1000 when they register for spring classes through MyCUInfo.
