The Nov. 3–4 cyberBUFFS Hackathon will feature a mix of mini games, battle rooms and live mission scenarios designed to challenge students at all levels of proficiency.

Circadence’s Project Ares, a gamified, AI-based cybersecurity training platform, will serve as the competition arena for the event.

The hosts will identify eight winners for various challenges throughout the weekend, plus one champion, all of whom will take home prizes including gift cards, sweatshirts, stickers and pens, Project Ares user licenses and, most importantly, a $500 top scholarship award. 

Students are invited to:

  • Practice, practice, practice (and earn ‘experience points’) with mini games.
  • Get your fingers on the keyboard, and take a shot at objectives in the battle rooms.
  • Go head-to-head against your peers with end-to-end problem solving in live mission scenarios.

The hackathon will be held in the Engineering Center. Food and refreshments will be provided. Spaces are limited; pre-registration is required. Participation is limited to current CU Boulder students with a valid CU IdentiKey.
