SafeTALK: Suicide Alertness for Everyone! is a one-time opportunity for free training and certification, open to any individuals ages 15 and up. The three- to four-hour training provides attendees with tips with tricks on how to recognize suicidal invitations and where to look for intervention resources.

By the end of the training, participants will be better able to:

  • Move beyond common tendencies to miss, dismiss or avoid suicide.
  • Recognize people who have thoughts of suicide.
  • Apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen, Keep-safe) to connect a person in need to a suicide first-aid intervention caregiver.

SafeTALK events usually are hosted through LivingWorks.net, at a cost to attendees, but the costs for this workshop have been covered already. The event only holds 20–25 people, and spots are filling fast, so please email cole.maze@colorado.edu to register now.
