Three members of the CU Boulder community will speak June 16 at TEDxMileHigh 2018: Uncommon at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

The event "exists to spread big ideas and elevate inspired citizenship in Colorado. It is a community of thinkers and doers, ideators and creators, activists and enthusiasts. TEDxMileHigh showcases innovative Coloradans, no matter the sector, who each give the ‘talk of their life’ around the power of ideas," according to the TedxMileHigh website.

Part of the College of Media, Information and Communication, Brubaker is an expert in social informatics, social media and infrastructure studies. He studies how identity is designed, represented and experienced in socio-technical systems. 

Patrick Ferrucci

Also part of the College of Media, Information and Communication, Ferrucci specializes in digital journalism. Ferrucci’s research broadly examines various aspects of media sociology, specifically how economics and technology influence digital news.

William Woodward

Woodward is part of the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence. He co-authored the report on the Arapahoe High School shooting and trains schools in the Safe Communities Safe Schools model developed by CSPV.
