Whether you join an event or have a day to yourself, there are many ways to relax and recharge for the semester ahead. Here are nine things for you to do this Wednesday.

Attend activities through the Student Rec Center. Come take a break, meet other Buffs and relax as the Rec Center hosts a series of events for you to stay active. You can register with a buddy and play Putt Putt or attend a dancing therapy class. No matter what you do, it only matters that you move! You must register for all events to participate.

Go for a walk, drive or bike ride. Whether you have a destination or not, exploring scenic spaces can put a lot of things in perspective. Rediscover the town you live in and enjoy getting outside.

Spend time with your furry friend. If you have a dog, cat or other pet, spend quality time with them. Try to teach them new tricks, go for a long walk or find a new toy or treat they might enjoy.

Reorganize and decorate. This is the perfect time to clean and reorganize your space or finally paint your room the color you’ve always wanted. Something as simple as changing the location of your bed and changing your sheets can reset your mood.

Practice self-care

Thank yourself. Think back on your accomplishments or things you’ve overcome and write down the things you are most proud of. Something as simple as “Thank you for making it this far” is enough to give yourself a pat on the back.

Practice gratitude and self-care at campus events. You can join your fellow Buffs for Wellness Wednesdays to share the things you are grateful for, or pick up a bag of goodies to celebrate Valentine's Day in the Community Love Grab-and-Go

Read your favorite book. No matter the genre, picking up a physical book to read of your choice can help you relax.

Watch the sunrise or sunset. Whether you’re an early riser or a late sleeper, start your day watching the sunrise or get outside in the evening to enjoy watching the sun go down.

Spread kindness

Have you ever heard the saying kindness is good for the soul? If there was ever a time for spreading and sharing kindness towards yourself and others, it’s tomorrow, Feb. 17, on Random Acts of Kindness Day.

From letting the person behind you go first at the grocery store, to checking up on a friend that you haven’t talked to in a while or simply writing a thank you note, there are many ways to be kind! In case you missed it, be sure to check out other ways you can celebrate kindness towards someone else!
