All first-generation students, faculty and staff at CU Boulder are invited to join the Office of First-Generation Programs & Enrichment within the Center for Inclusion and Social Change and TRiO Student Support Services within the Student Academic Success Center for a National First-Generation College Celebration Day event from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 8. in the UMC, Room 235.

The event will include guest speakers Bert and Det, who will perform a hip-hop stage play on surviving college. The event also will include a faculty and staff mixer/panel where all first-generation students can connect with faculty and staff who were also the first in their families to go to college.

Nov. 8 was selected as the date for the annual National First-Generation College Celebration to honor the anniversary of the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965.

CU Boulder students, faculty and staff interested in attending are asked to RSVP.
