Six faculty members within the College of Engineering and Applied Science received CAREER Awards from the National Science Foundation in 2022. The total continues a trend of significant early career recognition for faculty at CU Boulder over the last three years said Acting Associate Dean for Research Shideh Dashti.

"We had a record 12 NSF CAREER awards in 2021 and this year we have two faculty that won both a CAREER award and a young investigator award from the Department of Deffense in the same cycle," she said. "That success is a testimate to both the research support infrastructure we have in the college and the fact that we have some of the best young researchers in the world here right now." 

CAREER awards provide approximately $500,000 over five years for those “who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.” The college has a long tradition of success in the award, with more than 80 winners serving as current and past faculty members.
