CU Boulder Provost Russell Moore today provided an update on the search for the dean of the Leeds School of Business. In May, Moore named Yonca Ertimur acting dean of the school, following the announcement of the departure of Sharon Matusik.
“For this position, I am seeking a dean who will foster a positive environment for teaching, scholarship, research and service within and outside of the university, '' Moore said. “The next dean will be expected to build on Leeds’ excellent reputation, Boulder’s unique startup ecosystem and our hub of national lab innovation to propel the school’s reputation to new heights nationally and internationally.”
Moore added that critical to this leadership role will be the ability to develop and support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the provost, the dean of the Leeds School is the principal academic and administrative leader, providing strategic and equitable leadership, vision, planning and management. This position has leadership responsibilities in academic programs, budget and personnel.
The search advisory committee, chaired by Keith Molenaar, dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science, convened and began its work in October with the assistance of the executive search firm Isaacson, Miller. Moore plans to bring finalists to campus following winter break and name a permanent dean of the Leeds School of Business in spring 2023.
