BOCO MLK Jr. Day Celebration: Boulder

Jan. 15 4 p.m. Jewish Community Center, 6007 Oreg Ave.
The Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) presents a keynote talk by Reiland Rabaka, founder and director of the CAAAS, and a musical performance by the University of Denver Spirituals Project Choir. The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome.

CU in the Community: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Jan. 16  8 a.m.–2 p.m.  Meet on the UMC south terrace
Spend the day “on” (instead of spending the day off) by connecting and participating in community celebrations in Denver on this nationally recognized day of service. Join the Center for African and African American Studies and Volunteer Resource Center to participate in the downtown Denver march and parade celebration. Food and transportation will be provided for those who sign up to participate.

The Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) presents a keynote talk by Reiland Rabaka, founder and director of the CAAAS; an MLK youth art workshop; and a performance by the Colorado Community Heritage Choir. The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome.

Dr. King Jr. And the Radical Roots at the Heart of Justice

Jan. 16  2–3 p.m. Dairy Arts Center, Gordon Gamm Theater
Motus Theater is hosting a free, arts-based and family-friendly event intended to uplift King's understanding of the interrelationship between poverty, racism and justice. The event will feature a musical performance by The ReMINDers, hip-hop poetry and reflections by Reiland Rabaka, and a monologue by Colette Payne inspiring us all to take action to create true justice. Reserve your spot.
