The Research & Innovation Office (RIO) invites faculty new to the university’s creative work, research and scholarly community to join the Principal Investigator (PI) Academy. A virtual kickoff will welcome new and returning faculty on August 25th, 10–11 a.m.

Through the PI Academy, presenters and facilitators actively engage faculty on several core research topics to ensure early investigators are well-positioned to identify, apply for and secure external funding for their research, scholarly and creative endeavors. Tenure track faculty members of any level who are interested in joining the PI Academy should register for the program by August 25.

During the kickoff webinar, PI Academy graduates and current and new participants will have the opportunity to get to know each other, ask questions, and learn more about the program and upcoming workshops.

Oana Luca, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and graduate of the program notes that the PI Academy's workshops are "all designed to be an opportunity to learn, ask questions and make connections as you begin building your academic portfolio." These connections are an important part of the program, which has grown to include more than 100 faculty members representing various departments from across campus.
