What’s your data’s love language? Whether its quality time or acts of service, Love Data Week 2024 is the perfect time to show your appreciation.

The Center for Research Data & Digital Scholarship is hosting Love Data Week from February 12 – 16 and this year’s theme is "My Kind of Data” which centers the personal side of data and its transformative potential. 

The keynote address will be presented by Teddy Manning on MapLemon, a project that collects and studies linguistic variation among North American English speakers. It is most well known for its inclusion of transgender and nonbinary identities in data collection and its groundbreaking discovery about the possibility of a transgender accent. This talk will be held virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Register to attend.

There will also be a Buffalization Data Visualization challenge using CU Buffs Football data with prizes for the winners. The deadline to enter is Feb. 14.

Other programming will include lightning talks from data researchers around campus, drop-in button making and workshops.

Love Data Week is an international celebration of data that aims to promote good data practices, while building and engaging a community around topics related to research data management, sharing, preservation and reuse.
