As work to transform graduate education is well underway, Provost Russell Moore has officially accepted the Graduate School strategic plan.

As part of the 2021 State of the Campus event, Chancellor Philip DiStefano reflects on the past pandemic year with gratitude and gives a look ahead to a year focused on student well-being, improving diversity, equity and inclusion, and continuing the rigorous academic work that makes CU Boulder a leading research university.

The budget model redesign project aims to develop a more transparent and responsive allocation of funding and an enhanced ability to support the university’s mission and priorities. Get updates and plan to attend an info session in October or November.

Plan to watch the chancellor’s two-part State of the Campus online event. Day one will include the release of the documentary The Road Back: CU Boulder’s Response to COVID-19. Day two will include the release of a speech by Chancellor Philip DiStefano sharing his excitement and goals for the academic year.

At its meeting Sept. 10, the CU Board of Regents heard an update on enrollment numbers, named a chair to lead the search for a new system president, approved changes to tuition classification for American Indian students and more.

Members of the Colorado Competitive Council visited CU Boulder and toured Fiske Planetarium as part of their annual tour for legislators, lobbyists and business leaders. Chancellor Philip DiStefano spoke with the group during the visit.

The CU regents approved the disposition of more than half of the 308-acre CU Boulder South property to the city of Boulder for flood mitigation and preservation of permanent open space—a key stepping stone toward annexation of the site into the Boulder city limits.

Effective Aug. 23, Katy Herbert Kotlarczyk will be the vice chancellor for advancement. The position collaborates with executive leadership, shared governance representatives and colleagues at the CU system and University of Colorado Foundation to set the strategic direction for advancement.
